Create and Manage Listings

Welcome to Foxtail! This article will review how to create, edit, and delete listings using the Foxtail app. You can choose between creating your listing manually or using AI to speed up the process.

Note: Foxtail does not enforce marketplace regulations. It is the user's responsibility to ensure that the items they post comply with the rules and policies of each marketplace. Please verify the guidelines for each platform before listing your items to avoid any potential issues.

Listing Basics

Begin by visiting the Listings tab in Foxtail. Click the plus sign in the upper right-hand corner to begin.

Choose Create listing.

Marketplaces

On the first page of listing creation, select the desired marketplace(s) where you would like to post your item(s):

If you do not see the marketplace(s) where you would like to post, you will need to connect your marketplace account. To do so, visit our article Connecting Your Marketplace Accounts.

Photos

Note: Poshmark, Mercari, and Depop automatically crop all images into a square. Make sure your photos are optimized for this aspect ratio to ensure the best presentation of your listings.

You can add and edit photos in Foxtail. Begin by clicking the Add Photos button.

Foxtail users can upload up to 24 photos per listing. However, it's important to note that each marketplace comes with its own photo upload limitations. If you exceed these limits, only the allowed number of photos will be displayed on the platform. To learn more about photo limitations for each marketplace, please consult our article: How Many Photos Can I Upload?

Select photos to add to your listing. When ready, click the Add button to upload these photos to Foxtail.

You can select which of your photos will be the covershot. A covershot is the primary image that represents the item being sold. It is the first and most prominent photo that potential buyers see when they view your listing.

To edit photos, simply click on the photo itself. You can crop, resize, tilt, and rotate photos along with applying a variety of filters. When you are happy with your image, click the yellow checkmark in the upper right-hand corner to continue.

Title Info

Next, fill in your item's price, quantity, and title. You can choose to save a draft of your listing at any time. Choose Continue to move on to the Marketplace-specific criteria for your post.

Choose How to Create Your Listing

You can autofill marketplace information using AI or enter details manually. See below for instructions for each.

Autofill Listing Details using AI

Marketplace Specifics

When choosing autofill, Foxtail's AI will generate marketplace-specific criteria for each platform such as your item's category, weight, color, and condition. A description and tags for your item will also be generated.

Note: if you're just getting started with Autofill, you may want to set defaults such as shipping preference. To learn more, visit our article: Editing Crosslisting Defaults

eBay Listing Specifics

What to know before you get started

Any eBay listings created with Foxtail can only be managed in the Foxtail app and/or eBay's seller portal in the browser.

Listings created using Foxtail can no longer be managed in the eBay app.

Offer to Buyers not supported

If you edit an eBay listing created with Foxtail to include eBay's Offer to Buyers feature, subsequent edits to that listing must be made directly from eBay in the browser.

Foxtail can not support modifications to any eBay listings with this feature enabled.

Setting default shipping policies on eBay

When you create a listing on eBay, Foxtail will create some default shipping profiles for you. You can use these or chose your own by using the optional field called "Shipping Policy" in the eBay section of the listing form.

If you have not already set up an eBay policy for shipping, you can do so in eBay's SellerHub under "Business Policies." The link will be something like: https://www.bizpolicy.ebay.com/businesspolicy/manage. You are able to create as many different shipping policies as you see fit, and sync them in Foxtail to choose whichever ones you want to use.

Setting a default return policy for eBay posts

When you create a listing on eBay, Foxtail will create a default return profile. You can edit this policy in eBay's SellerHub under "Business Policies." The link will be something like: https://www.bizpolicy.ebay.com/businesspolicy/manage.

For example: if you edit your policy to specify "no returns." This will set "no returns" as the default for your Foxtail posts.
