Importing from eBay
Updated over a week ago

You can import listings from eBay. Soon, you'll have the option to import from other marketplaces.

What to know before you get started

Once a listing is imported from eBay into Foxtail, that listing can only be managed in the Foxtail app and/or eBay's seller portal in the browser.

Listings imported from Foxtail can no longer be managed in the eBay app.

Here's how to get started with eBay imports:

Access the Listings Tab

Begin by visiting the Listings tab in Foxtail. Click the plus icon in the upper right-hand corner, and choose Import Listing.

Start Your Import

Tap the Begin Import button

The import process may take some time, depending on how many listings you have. Once the process begins, you can continue using the Foxtail app while your collection of listings populates.

Choosing Listings to Import

Once your listings have populated, you have the freedom to select which ones you want to import into Foxtail.

Import Rules

Before diving in, be aware of a few import rules:

  • Sale Status: Only active listings, up to 120 days old, are importable. Listings set to end within the next 12 hours will not be imported.

  • Photo requirement: Each listing must include at least one photo.

  • Pricing format: Listings must be set as Buy It Now; Auction listings are not importable.

  • Shipping details: Listings must have specified shipping details; local pickup listings cannot be imported.

  • Best Offers: if a posting has gotten one or more Best Offers, this item will not be imported.

  • Variations: postings using the variations feature (multiple sizes, colors, etc) cannot be imported.

  • Duplicated Custom Label SKUs: if a custom label SKU of an already-imported item is repeated, the repeated post will not import.

  • eBay Motors: eBay's automotive arm is not supported at this time and these postings are not importable.

Keep in mind that each imported listing will count against your monthly allotment. If you'd like to understand more about allotments, you can refer to our article: How are listings counted?

Reviewing Your Listings

After your chosen listings have been imported, they will appear in your Active Listings tab.

When Will My Import Finish?

The duration of your import depends on the number of listings in your eBay account. For accounts with a large number of posts, the process may take several hours. You will receive a notification when your import is complete; please make sure your notifications are turned on!
